Kim Fabio Studio

My journey through footwear began about twenty years ago as a designer for Keds.  At Keds I developed the aesthetics of the womens line in addition to select childrens products and pioneered several innovative vulcanized constructions resulting in multi million pair programs.  From Keds I transitioned to Converse where I set the global athleisure design direction and presented the product line to key accounts and senior staff domestically and internationally. 

Having made my mark on the sneaker side of the footwear business, I began to focus my sights on dress casual shoes and moved to Tommy Hilfiger where I designed and introduced the womens dress casual line from inception. My dream of moving to Europe came true while working for Camper as senior designer and director of the Rural and Classic Unisex categories.  With the re-birth of Converse, I was recruited back to the USA partnering with John Varvatos to design Converse specific product.

Additonally, I have worked for Liz Claiborne Shoes as well as Dansko leading the product lifecycle of brand relevant designs, from trend through design and onto development. Since founding Kim Fabio Studios in 2009, I perform as a senior consultant for start-up and established companies such as Mexx, Pony Europe, and Heelys.  My latest venture has added author to my list of credits by writing and illustrating my first book titled Patent Leather Shoes which is available on amazon.com
